What Is BCF?

BCF stands for "BIM Collaboration Format". It serves as an open format for transmitting project data and information in a BIM model. BCF allows different project partners, such as architects, engineers and contractors, to store and share their data and comments in a common digital environment.

For example, BCF enables project participants to identify and resolve conflicts, track changes, and perform reviews. The BCF format supports the entire construction process from planning to commissioning and contributes to more efficient cooperation and better communication. The file format is an important part of the BIM methodology and helps to improve efficiency in the construction process.

The BCF format transmits the individual communication case and holds various data such as "Who, What, When, Where" in the model as well as an image of the situation.

STRAKON supports the BCF format and many other data exchange formats.
