What Is IFC?
IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) is a standard 3D/BIM exchange format. The IFC format transports 3D models and information between software systems and thus supports the openBIM process. IFC is certified by buildingSMART.
STRAKON STRAKON is certified IFC4 by buildingSMART International.
In STRAKON models can be imported via IFC. These models are then available in STRAKON for further processing as if they were entered directly in STRAKON. IFC models can also be used as a reference in STRAKON. By export IFC from STRAKON, models of the structural design including reinforcement are shipped to project partners. Other uses of the IFC models arise for billing and production.
This and many other data exchange formats support STRAKON to enable networking with other project partners.
