Gamechanger in Precast Part Planning: DICAD Automates the Individual Shop Drawing Creation With STRAKON 2026+

With the STRAKON 2026+ version, DICAD is expanding its software solution in the area of structural finished part planning with a new tool for automated production planning. The focus here is on the so-called "shop drawing turbo", which is intended to allow considerable time savings in the planning phase, especially in the case of recurring, similar finished part types.

In practice, planning structural precast parts often starts with a simple overview model. Initially, this contains only the geometric and some data-technical information of the components – without reinforcement, plant plan-relevant embedded parts or finished shop drawings. Only later will individual components be worked out in detail and supplemented with the necessary information.

So far, these steps have been done individually for each component. This included, among other things, the transfer of reinforcements, the copy of relevant embedded parts and the adaptation and creation of the respective shop drawings. Especially for larger projects with many similar components, this led to a high level of manual effort.

The new shop drawing turbo in STRAKON 2026+ almost completely automates this process. This enables users to transfer individually designed shop drawings, including reinforcement and embedded parts relevant to the production schedule, simultaneously to several similar component positions. As a result, numerous precast part parts can be completed in detail in a single work step, which significantly reduces the effort required to create the work plan.

With the new function, DICAD responds to the increasing need for efficiency in precast part planning. The automation of repetitive work steps is not only intended to shorten processing times, but also to improve consistency within the planning.
The function is available within the new version STRAKON 2026+ since June 2026.
